7 Card Stud Tip One – Find a Gear

In 7 card stud you have to be ready to start fast and play aggressively with good hands starting hands. If you are holding a high pair after within the first three cards, you need to play very aggressive to eliminate as many players has you can from drawing against you.

Just the opposite for a good drawing hand, you want to slow play to keep as many people in to build the pot to make drawing for a hand profitable. So if your first three cards have are three to a straight of flush then slow down and try to see the next dew cards as cheap as possible until you hit your draw.

7 Card Stud Tip Two – Try to Fold

I know, sounds like an odd poker tip but it is one that will save you money. If you are in a hand, study the players and the board cards and try to determine any reason you can your hand is beat. Are the cards you need up cards in other players hands? Are there a few of your flush suit showing making it harder for you to hit yours? Is a player who doesn't bluff betting or a player who only calls with strong hands calling?

If you can’t find any reason to fold, then play on and be aggressive.

7 Card Stud Tip Three – Know it Early

In 7 card stud, you will know enough information within the first 4 cards to continue or fold. So if you start with a good hand and the 4th card hurts you and seems to help someone else, fold and wait for a better situation. What you are trying to avoid is being the second best hand and losing a lot of your bankroll.

If the 4th card helps you, then proceed and keep using Stud Tip 2. By no means do 4 good cards guarantee a win but at least you will be on the right track and in good position to win more than you lose.
