Razz Poker Tip One – Discipline and Patience Though these are important in every poker variance you play it seems that Razz really tests the limits of both. Your patience will be pushed but you must learn to wait for the good starting hands in Razz. It is hard to turn a mediocre starting hand into a profitable one in Razz. You most also learn the discipline to get out of hands that are going bad, recognize situations in which you are beat and not "look at just one more card". Razz Poker Tip Two – Pay Attention Take notice of all the information you are getting from the up cards showing on the table. Are any of the cards you need showing? For example if you need two cards to make a good low and all around the table you see those cards you need in other players hands, it is time to head Tip One and fold. This starts as soon as the cards are dealt so you will see the up cards of players before they fold. Razz Poker Tip Three – Starting Hands This again is important in every poker variation but seems to be harder and more costly to overcome in Razz. You want to start with a hand that has three low cards, preferably 8 and below. If you do run into a strong starting hand it is time to ramp up the aggression. Razz is not a game you want to play passively. Be selective, be smart and be aggressive. |
